Essie Olou
Essie began studying bodywork and massage at East West College of the Healing Arts in Portland. She graduated in 2010 and has been practicing massage ever since. She is an intuitive and skilled bodyworker with nearly 15 years of experience. Her main areas of study while at school were Trigger Point Therapy, Deep Tissue, and Spa Therapies. After graduating from East West and working in many different wellness environments, Essie was called to learn more traditional healing modalities. Her goal in the journey of wellness is to keep learning, changing and evolving to support her clients in the most holistic and caring way possible.
In 2012, she moved to Hawai'i and studied Lomi Lomi and Shiatsu from local elders. Essie continues to bring tools from her education in Hawai'i to each treatment. She does not claim to practice fully in these traditions out of respect to the communities who continue to use, teach, and pass on these healing practices.

In the summer of 2015, Essie began to study holistic skincare and became a Licensed Holistic Esthetician. She has taken trainings through EvanHealy, Dr. Hauschka, Eminence, Botnia, and Laurel Skincare. She supports the vagus nerve, or central nervous system, through attunement to the body’s natural rhythms, inviting a sense of deep relaxation in all of her facials and bodywork.

In 2018, she started to study herbalism and joined Wapato Island Farm. She continues to tend to the flowers, herbs, food, animals, and medicine there. Most recently she is enrolled in a nutrition program and has begun her education with the Upledger Craniosacral Institute. Essie is a lifelong learner with a deep appreciation of the Earth, tending to plants, taking care of people, and helping guide clients through their healing journeys using a variety of techniques and healing modalities.
